Below are the 2007 sales compared to 2006 for Galveston Island as recorded in the Galveston MLS. The volume of sales for the residential market rose 4% and land sales rose 27% as compared to 2006. The average sales price continues to increase.
Again, the condo resale market is lagging behind but as commented at
Galveston MLS Sales in Review there are several new developments under construction on Galveston Island deferring resales to new sales which are not recorded in the Galveston MLS. At least one project is slated to post their sales in the MLS once they have completed construction and closed.
The Galveston Market continues to appreciate in value with the average sales price increasing 8%.
